What do i need to bring with me for the ltc course?
All students are supplied Hearing and Eye Protection. It’s HIGHLY recommended that they bring a ball cap as well. Pens and all forms will be provided. However, due to high numbers of students, we may not have enough pens. Its suggested to bring your own.
can i bring a friend to the ltc course?
In short, unless they are a paid student, or needed for proven medical needs, NO.
what is the minimum age requirement to take a course?
Depends on the course. For LTC, its 15 years old. By law they have to take it for an FID licensing. For any of the other courses except LEOSA, so long as there is a parent or legal guardian of the child/teen, any age. However, we do ask that the child be at least 15 years old. Exceptions can be made based on child/teen experience.
are the courses refundable if i CAN'T make it and have paid ahead?
In short, NO. However, we do honor a delayed class attempt. Meaning, If you schedule and pay for a class, and can’t make it to that class date, you will have up to 45 days to make it up. If you fail to make it to the next course available within that 45 days, you will forfeit the value paid for that course. Exigent circumstances do apply, please contact us.
WHAT DO I DO AFTER I SUBMIT MY COURSE SELECTION FORM?
After you have submitted your course selection form. We will be notified. Our system does not reply with a confirmation email. Don’t panic! i let my ltc expire, what do i HAVE to do?
You have 2 options. First option is to retake the course and renew IF the ID has been expired for more than 5 years or you haven’t taken a course in 5 years. Second, if its been less than the state required time, head to your local Police dept., and request a LTC renewal form. Be advised, they may ask that you retake the course anyhow.
I have a criminal record from when i was young and dumb, can i still get a ltc?
Depends on the circumstances of the record. If it was a Marijuana possession charge, you will need to request the courts remove it from record now that use of marijuana is legal. IF they remove it, then YES, you can get a license to carry AFTER you complete the course and apply. Any other charges/ convictions? Probably not. Again, its dependant on the charge. Just contact us and we will help you as best we can.
can i bring my own firearm?
In most cases, YES, so long as you are properly licensed to carry that weapon. In fact, we recommend students bring their own to familiarize themselves with it. Please bring proper ammo for that firearm!
can i get a ltc if i have a felony conviction?
Simple answer NO!! You will never be able to possess a firearm or weapon of any kind. Also, IF you have a pending Felony charge / warrant, DO NOT SHOW UP !!! YOU WILL BE LEAVING IN CUFFS !!!
